Gap Analysis Services

Perform initial analysis of research workflows and provide suggestions for optimization and increased efficiency.
Perform high-level review of financial and annual reports to determine the financial impact of research on the institution. How can electronic research systems increase the bottom line?

Build Epic research tools including research administrative records, billing protocols, pricing contracts, fee schedules, SlicerDicer cohorts, MyChart recruitment instruments, and research ordering tools to optimize Go-Lives.
Coordinate and collaborate with other Epic application teams (scheduling, hospital and professional billing, referrals, claims, lab/radiology, and admissions, etc.) to ensure a comprehensive and smooth transition to the electronic medical record solution.
Provide support for interfacing Epic with other electronic research tools. Clinical Trials (Research) Management Systems, third-party grants and awards applications, investigational pharmacy systems, etc. are often key to a successful research shop and we are well versed in such systems and how they can push and pull data from the Epic EMR for more accurate data, billing, etc. We are principally knowledgeable in industry’s top CTMS systems such as Velos and Oncore.
Provide project oversight to help ensure that the research team is staffed appropriately, the project is scoped appropriately (often a major shortfall of research Epic implementations), and the project is planned accordingly.

Perform workflow and business analyses to ensure that Epic is being utilized effectively and efficiently.
Support Epic upgrades – many EMRs are supplementing research functionality with major upgrades. Our research Project Analysts and Directors are constantly abreast of the latest and greatest in system functionality.
Support the selection of an appropriate (for the size of the institution) Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS/CRMS) for use with research functionality in Epic EMR. This includes requirements gathering, coordinating decision support committees, working directly with vendors to coordinate demos and onsite visits, and defining interface specifications.
